You can trust that you'll receive personalized care and nurturing support tailored to your unique needs. Welcome to a journey filled with love, courage, and the joy of new beginnings.

My Approach

As a doula, my approach is deeply individualized, recognizing that each women and birthing experience is unique. I prioritize understanding your specific needs, preferences, and concerns to provide personalized emotional and physical support. I ensure that you feel empowered and supported throughout the entire process, creating a nurturing environment. Recently having two babies of my own and going through the transformation of the birth process allows me to connect with my clients. I understand the physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery firsthand. My personal experience has made more empathetic to fears, joys, and uncertainties. I am so passionate about this work and helping mothers achieve the birth they so badly desire.

what does it mean to be supported in labor?

  • Physical Support

Feeling physically and emotionally safe during childbirth is important to ensure the best outcomes. Physical support is important because it helps you maintain a sense of control, comfort, confidence, and can provide relief or distraction from pain. Feeling safe can also calm your nerves and allow your body to stay in a relaxed state, so labor will progress at its best.

  • Emotional Support

Emotional support is a key feature of doula support. Helping you feel cared for and centered in your care, and to feel a sense of pride and empowerment after birth. One of the doula’s primary roles is to care for your emotional health and provide a supportive presence that increases the chances of a positive birth experience.

  • Informational Support

Informational support helps keep you and your birth partner informed about what’s going on with the course of labor, as well as giving you evidence-based information about birth options. All of this can lead to you feeling supported, safe, and experiencing other benefits that come from being at ease in your body. Studies show that doulas often have a basic level of clinical knowledge and can help explain the birthing process and common medical procedures.

FAQs

  • There are so many benefits to natural birth for mother and baby. Easier recovery, more likely to breastfeed, reduced risk of complications and usually a shorter labor. The oxytocin or "birth high" post birth is so real!

    • Doulas do not perform medical tasks, such as cervical checks, administering medications, or fetal monitoring. They are not medical professionals.

    • Doulas do not make decisions for the client or their family. Instead, they provide information and support to help the family make informed decisions.

    • They do not pressure the mother into certain choices just because that’s what they prefer.

    • They do not take over the role of the partner.

  • I've been hired as early as four weeks, and as late as 41 weeks. Anytime during your pregnancy is a good time as long as it works for you. Preferably earlier than later though so I can hold a spot for your due date.

  • Payment plans are available. It's usually a $250 deposit to secure the due date. The rest of the payment is due by week 37th week of pregnancy.

  • Some people think that they do not need a doula because their partner will be with them continuously throughout labor. It is true that a birth partner is an essential support person for a birthing mother to have by their side. However, the birth partner will need to eat and use the bathroom at times, and they may also need support in their own emotional journey. For example, if your birth companion is becoming a parent for the first time, they may be struggling with a lack of support for them as they transition into a new role. My goal is support both of you and help you work together, as a team.

I grew up in Parowan, Utah and moved to Cedar City in 6th grade. I attended Cedar High School and played three sports. I later got a softball scholarship at SUU which I attended and played softball there for four years. I met my husband when I was 17 and just graduating high school. We got married three years later in 2019! We attended SUU together. I majored in Family Life and Human Development with a double minor in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I loved learning about family systems and child development. I got pregnant with my daughter and gave birth in 2021. I loved being a mom and it changed me more than I ever could’ve imagined. When she turned one I attended a doula training. A week after the training I found out I was pregnant again. In 2023 we welcomed our second daughter. Now I'm a mom of two, a doula, and a wife helping my husband run his own business. There’s never a dull moment around here. Sometimes it feels like chaos but in the best way possible!
